About this document

Solubility and Precipitation of Salts by Joyce Bensig Castil is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The experiment investigated the solubility of common salts in water. Various salt solutions were mixed and observed for precipitation reactions. Precipitates formed were recorded by color and texture. Solubility rules were then used to identify the precipitates formed. Key results showed that salts of lead, silver, barium, calcium, and copper precipitated with sulfate, carbonate, phosphate and sulfide ions. Solubility was dependent on the specific cations and anions present in each salt solution.
