What is Nutria Meat Quality and Carcass Yield about?
This study evaluates the growth, carcass composition, and meat quality of male and female nutrias aged six to eight months under an intensive production system. It finds that while sexual dimorphism affects growth rates, the dressing-out percentage and meat color remain unaffected by age or sex. The results suggest that nutrias can be optimally slaughtered at six months for high carcass yield and meat quality.
