What is Understanding Caption Types and Functions about?

Captions are short texts that accompany images, photos or graphics. There are several types of captions including identification, group, story-telling, summary and expanded captions. Captions usually have two sentences - one that describes what is happening in the image and another that provides context. Captions serve to add credibility to images, get more people interested by providing explanations, and ensure readers understand the intent of the image through complete information.
