What is Improved Gravitational Search Algorithm about?
This paper proposes an improved gravitational search algorithm (IGSA) to enhance the performance of the original gravitational search algorithm (GSA). IGSA introduces a crossover operation to allow each solution to inherit useful information from the global best solution, improving exploitation. It also uses a linearly decreasing weight to balance global and local search abilities. Experiments on 10 benchmark problems show that IGSA is competitive with other algorithms for solving optimization problems.
