What is The Case Against Advanced Math Education about?

The poem argues that requiring all students to take advanced mathematics courses beyond basic algebra and geometry is unnecessary and causes undue stress. While mathematics plays an important role in education, most people do not need courses like calculus, trigonometry, or advanced algebra in their daily lives or careers. Forcing all students to take these higher-level math classes is an "educational development to abhor" and subjects children to "slavery" through unnecessary stress.
