Viceroy Lord Curzon decided to partition Bengal in 1905, dividing it into East and West Bengal. This caused anger among Hindus as the Hindu population would be outnumbered in East Bengal. In response, Indians launched the Swadeshi movement boycotting British goods and promoting Indian goods. As British sales dropped, bans and arrests occurred against Indians. Ultimately, the partition was reversed when Viceroy Lord Harding acknowledged the protests and King George V declared the reversal at Delhi Durbar. Th
