This study simulates the impact of genomic selection in a pig population using data from slaughtered full sibs of boars within a sib-testing program. Results indicate that while no benefits were observed for traits with moderate heritability, some advantages were noted for traits with low heritability, such as meat quality parameters. The findings suggest that further evaluation of genomic selection strategies is needed before implementation in pig breeding programs based on sib testing.
