What is Lassa Fever Awareness in Rural Nigeria about?

This study assessed awareness of Lassa fever among residents of a rural community in Southwestern Nigeria. A survey of 122 respondents found that awareness was poor, with only 17.2% having previously heard of Lassa fever. Higher levels of education were associated with greater awareness, as 46.7% of those with a tertiary education had heard of it, compared to only 13.1% of those with a secondary education or below.
