This research article examines the impact of teacher professional development (TPD) on student achievement in mathematics and science in Bosnia and Herzegovina, using TIMSS 2019 results. It highlights the low performance of B&H students compared to regional counterparts and identifies a lack of TPD as a significant factor contributing to these results. The authors suggest that reforms in the education system and enhanced TPD programs are necessary to improve educational outcomes in B&H.
