This study assessed the prevalence of Salmonella contamination in chicken meats from 14 butcheries in Skikda, Algeria, finding a contamination rate of 57.14%. A total of 19 Salmonella strains were isolated, predominantly of the Kentucky serotype, with all isolates showing resistance to Rifampicin and varying resistance to other antibiotics. The findings highlight significant public health concerns regarding antibiotic-resistant Salmonella in poultry meat.
