This study investigates the impact of internet usage on the academic performance of first-year social studies students at the University of Calabar. Findings indicate that students who use the internet less tend to perform better academically, suggesting that excessive internet use for non-academic purposes detracts from their studies. The report recommends that students utilize internet resources more effectively for academic purposes to enhance their learning and performance.
