The Tasmanian Government supports the principles of the Gonski reforms but has some concerns about Gonski 2.0. It acknowledges the extra $186 million in funding but is concerned about aspects of the model. Specifically, it is concerned about using the NCCD data set to allocate funding for students with disabilities until issues around consistency across jurisdictions are addressed. It also wants more involvement in developing the regulations and wants more certainty around early childhood education funding.
