About this document
Pressure Drop and Flooding in Packed Columns by Santosh Reddy is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This experiment studies pressure drop and flooding in a packed column. Pressure drop increases with flow rate of gas or liquid. Flooding occurs when counter-current flow can no longer be maintained at high flow rates. The experiment measures pressure drops for varying gas and liquid flows, including visual observations of flooding. Results are compared to correlations from literature and used to design a column operating at 60% of flooding rate.
