What is Human Target Acquisition Performance Study about?

This document summarizes several studies on human target acquisition performance using thermal imagery. It also aims to validate the TARGAC target acquisition model by comparing its predictions to observed human recognition ranges. The major findings are: 1) Human acquisition performance depends on factors like target structure, terrain, and cognitive factors, which TARGAC does not model. 2) TARGAC systematically underestimates human performance - observed recognition ranges were 1.8 times longer than pr
