Sophie Taeuber was a Swiss artist born in 1889. She studied textile design and became involved with the Zurich Dada movement in the early 1920s. As part of the movement, she collaborated with her husband Hans Arp on collages made of cut paper in geometric patterns. Taeuber also designed textiles, weavings, stage sets and marionettes. She incorporated abstract and geometric forms influenced by her textile work. Throughout her involvement with Dada, Taeuber also taught textile design. She tragically died of g
