Moment of Inertia of Flywheel Experiment by Bhavya Puritipati is a document available to read on EtoBox.

What is Moment of Inertia of Flywheel Experiment about?

The student determined the moment of inertia of a flywheel experimentally. The flywheel was mounted horizontally and a known mass was wrapped around its axle and released, setting it in motion. The number of rotations before and after the mass detached were counted, along with the time taken for the flywheel to stop. Using the potential energy lost by the mass, the moment of inertia was calculated from several trials and found to be 0.02 kg m2 on average. Sources of experimental error are noted.
