1) Hazrat Ali was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad. He was the fourth caliph and ruled from 656 to 661 AD. 2) Ali accepted Islam at a young age after being convinced by the Prophet and showed great courage in protecting the Prophet. 3) Ali had a very close relationship with the Prophet and played a key role as a warrior, advisor and leader in early Muslim community and caliphates. He participated in many important battles fighting bravely.
