What is Milwaukee Watershed Projects GLRI Funding about?
Thirteen watershed projects in the greater Milwaukee area received over $7 million in funding from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. The funded projects include habitat restoration, wetland creation, water quality monitoring and TMDL development along the Kinnickinnic, Menomonee, Milwaukee, and Root Rivers. A master plan was also approved for the Milwaukee River Greenway that will preserve habitat and improve recreation along 878 acres between Humbolt Avenue and Capitol Drive through invasive species
