According to a Freedom of Information request, 32 out of 273 private hire taxi drivers licensed by South Derbyshire District Council in the past three years have criminal convictions. The convictions of 22 drivers were revealed, including robbery, indecent assault, persistently soliciting a woman for prostitution from a motor vehicle, burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, harassment, and theft. One driver was found to have 10 previous convictions including burglary and driving with no license. W
