About this document
Hydrophobins Enhance PETase for Recycling by mohamed is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the enhancement of PETase activity for recycling waste PET by pretreating it with Class I hydrophobins. The results show that hydrophobin pretreatment significantly increases the hydrolysis efficiency, leading to higher yields of monomers such as terephthalic acid (TPA) and mono(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (MHET). Optimal conditions for hydrolysis were identified, demonstrating the potential of using hydrophobins to improve enzymatic PET recycling processes.
