When 2 probes were used, the mean acute angle between the probes was 8.0 ± 4.2 degrees, which supports parallel orientation of the probes and tumor bracketing. The average overlap of ablation zones between 2 probes was 37.8 ± 10.3%. Conclusions: Probe trajectories were near in-plane with the CT scanner slice during CT-guided microwave liver ablations and had a strong correlation with tumor depth. With a dual probe treatment strategy, probes were oriented parallel to one another with ablation zones overlapping on average by approximately 40%.
