About this document

DNA Structure and Replication Mechanism by Arif Setiawansyah is a document available to read on EtoBox.

DNA is composed of four nucleotides that form a double helix. Watson and Crick discovered that DNA has a double helix structure in 1953. DNA replication is semi-conservative and involves unwinding the DNA helix and using each strand as a template to synthesize new daughter strands with complementary nucleotides. It is carried out by DNA polymerase and other proteins to copy DNA with high fidelity. Transcription and translation then use the DNA information to synthesize proteins through RNA intermediates.
