What is Biodiesel Production from Crude Palm Oil about?

This block diagram shows the process for producing biodiesel from crude palm oil which involves pretreating the crude palm oil through evaporation if it contains over 55% water. The palm oil then undergoes either esterification using methanol, potassium hydroxide and sulfuric acid if the palm oil is less than 55% or transesterification if it is over 55%. This produces biodiesel and glycerol which are then purified and separated.
