What is Brokaw about?

This document describes a new two-transistor circuit configuration for realizing a stabilized bandgap voltage reference. The new circuit uses collector current sensing to eliminate errors due to base current. It can produce output voltages higher than the bandgap voltage in a simplified manner. The document also describes how this new two-transistor cell was incorporated into a three-terminal 2.5V monolithic reference circuit with temperature coefficients of 5 ppm/°C over the military temperature range.
