What is Agyekum 2021 about?
This study investigates a novel passive cooling mechanism for photovoltaic (PV) modules using a combination of phase change material (PCM) and aluminum fins. The results show that the cooled PV module achieved an average temperature reduction of 12.13 °C and an 11.33% improvement in power output compared to the reference module. Additionally, the economic analysis indicates that the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) for the cooled panel is more favorable than that of the referenced module.
