The document presents results from a study on high strength concrete prepared with large volumes of low calcium fly ash. Concrete with a compressive strength of 80 MPa and a water-to-binder ratio of 0.24 was achieved with 45% fly ash content. Such concrete has lower heat of hydration and chloride diffusivity than equivalent plain cement concrete. The study also examined reaction rates, degree of hydration, and pore structures of fly ash/cement concrete and pastes.
