Electric currents passing through the human body can have dangerous effects depending on duration, magnitude, and frequency. Very small currents of 0.1 amps can be lethal at frequencies of 50-60 Hz. Currents between 1-6 mA may not impair muscle control but 9-25 mA currents can make it difficult or impossible to let go and currents of 60-100 mA risk ventricular fibrillation and death.
