Sly Fox tries to trick and catch Red Hen so he can eat her. He lies in wait under her tree home. When Red Hen comes down, Sly Fox jumps into the tree but cannot reach her. Later, Sly Fox tricks Red Hen into falling into his bag, but grows tired on the way home. Red Hen escapes while he sleeps by replacing herself with stones. When Sly Fox arrives home and dumps the bag into hot water, he is splashed by the stones instead of catching Red Hen.
