What is Industrial applications of MXene nanocomposites about?

Two-dimensional (2D) materials have amassed a voluminous amount of interest, which is reflected by more than 70,000 Scopus indexed articles in just the past decade. The celebrated invention of graphene in 2004 by Novoselov et al. (2016) bolstered scientific interests due to its beneficial properties. It has a high specific surface area (2630 m 2 g À1 ), zero band-gap, enhanced electron mobility (1500 cm 2 V À1 s À1 ), and high capacitance (Castro Neto, Guinea, Peres, Novoselov, & Geim, 2009) of 550 F g À1 . This increased interest ushered in the discovery of a wide variety of 2D materials, including transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) (Chhowalla et al., 2013), black phosphorous (Li et al., 2014), metal hydroxides, boron nitride (Zhi, Bando, Tang, & Golberg, 2010), and metal oxides. However, most of these materials failed to meet laboratories constraints, which caused a severe impact on industries. The discovery of MXenes in 2011 by Gogotsi et al. unveiled a new constellation of 2D materials with significant potential in industrial applications. MXenes, whether carbides, nitrides, or carbonitrides of early transition elements, owes its name to its predecessors. They are commonly
