What is Reid Vapour Pressure of Petroleum Products about?

This experiment aimed to determine and compare the vapor pressures of different petroleum products using an ASTM D323 apparatus. Three types of oils were tested: kerosene, petrol, and lubricating oil. The apparatus measured the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) and consisted of a vapor chamber and liquid chamber, along with a pressure gauge and water bath. Readings were taken after heating the oils to 37.8°C and stabilizing for 5 minutes, repeating 3 times over 15 minutes. Petrol had the highest average RVP at 27.2
