What is EEG and ECG-based Drowsiness Detection: A Review on State of the Art about?
In this paper, we have collected, analyzed and presented a review of some of the latest research in the field of physiological signal-based drowsiness detection. The paper specifically focuses on presenting the state of the art in this direction by utilizing electroencephalogram (EEG) and electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. These methods are used for tracking and recording wave patterns of the brain and heart signals of an individual to find their drowsiness level which can further be used in developing many applications. One such application is in development of automated systems for identifying driver's drowsiness level while driving a vehicle. This work presents a thorough analysis method that has been implemented to find the drowsiness level of the person by recording the EEG and ECG signals of a person and what all solution have been proposed in the literature by different authors.
