Nearly 200 passengers on an excursion bus in the Philippines became ill after eating box lunches prepared by a local restaurant. An investigation found that the ham in the lunches was likely the source, as it had been stored in a malfunctioning refrigerator for three days before being sliced and packaged without proper cooling or temperature measurement. Bacteria identical to that found in the implicated ham were also identified in a sample from a food handler.
