What is King about?

The king discovered that the trees, shrubs, and flowers in his garden were dying. Each plant lamented not being able to be like the others. The king found a blooming and healthy carnation, and he asked how it could grow like that in the midst of the wilted garden. The carnation replied that it accepted being what it was planted to be. The message is that we must accept ourselves instead of comparing and lamenting.
