A Note on Hydromagnetic Rayleigh-Taylor Instability of a Stratified Fluid by Prof. Dr. B. B. Chakraborty is a Engineering article available to read on EtoBox.
What is A Note on Hydromagnetic Rayleigh-Taylor Instability of a Stratified Fluid about?
A Note on Hydromagnetic Ituyleigh-Tuylur Instubility of a Stratified Flnld RAYLEIQH-TAYIBB instability of an infinitely conducting stratified fluid in the presence of a horizontal magnetic field is studied. The fluid density and the magnetic field strength are arbitrary functions of the vert, ical coordinate. A ~I estimat,e of the upper bound for the maximum possible value of growth rate of instability of any unstable mode of disturbance, which cannot occur unless the fluid density increases with height a t some points, is obtained. This estimate is found to give satisfactory result in a RAYLEIQH-TAYLOR instability model for which the dispersion relation is known exactly. A sufficient condition for stability of n disturbance is a180 obtained. 1. liitroduction 0 CMkDLA8ilZEAlt, S., Eydrodynamlc snd hydromsgrktic Rtabillt,y, JmMIdn, 7 HIDE. R..
