This study aimed to determine the level of acceptability of barangay health workers (BHWs) in delivering basic health services in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. The study surveyed 245 BHWs and 1,087 residents using a questionnaire in 2010. It found that the BHWs had a high level of acceptability in their roles and performance. However, their socio-demographic profiles influenced their acceptability of roles except as teachers, but did not influence their performance levels.
