What is Zenz´enite: A New Mineral Species about?

Zenzénite is a hexagonal mineral with the chemical formula Pb3(Fe3+, Mn3+)4Mn43+O15. It occurs as black, opaque grains up to 150 micrometers in size with distinct cleavage. Zenzénite is weakly magnetic with a hardness of 5.7 on the Mohs scale. It was first discovered in Långban, Sweden within a carbonate-phyllosilicate skarn rock associated with other manganese-bearing minerals. Zenzénite is named after Dr. Nils Zenzén, a former curator at the Swedish Museum of Natural History.
