This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of the oral platelet growth factor eltrombopag in patients receiving carboplatin/paclitaxel chemotherapy for advanced solid tumors. 180 patients were randomized to receive placebo or eltrombopag at doses of 50 mg, 75 mg, or 100 mg during chemotherapy cycles.
