About this document
SAGE Technique for mRNA Analysis by Soumitra Nath is a document available to read on EtoBox.
SAGE (Serial Analysis of Gene Expression) is a technique that involves joining very short DNA sequences tags from cDNA into long concatamers prior to sequencing. The short tags are long enough to unambiguously identify genes but optimal for high-throughput analysis. Each SAGE sequence contains over 50 independent tags, equivalent to sequencing over 50 cDNA samples. This makes SAGE well-suited to analyze rare mRNAs.
