What is NYC 9/11 Mental Health Benefit Update about?

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will end its 9/11 Benefit Program for Mental Health and Substance Use Services on January 7, 2011. The program has provided reimbursement for out-of-pocket clinical expenses for those with 9/11-related mental health issues since 2008. Beneficiaries must submit any outstanding claims by March 31, 2011 to receive reimbursement. While treatment can continue after January 7th, the program will no longer cover costs.
