Needless to say, I deeply appreciated his recommendations for testing solar pictures : "You could compare your results to those from space when available; alternatively, compare your pictures to those from Pic-du-Midi.; and I am happy, too, to learn that until 15 years ago, Zirin and himself were called "dermatologists"; it did not happen to me, contrary to what he suspects, but that was for the simple reason that people, in France, did use, instead, the more trivial words "post-dard maker". And I remember that almost thirty years ago, more than one famous theorist positively denied the existence of some of the sharp features recently detected at the Pic, because they contradicted the theory !
