What is A Christian Theology of Judaism (Studies in Judaism and Christianity) about?

From rear cover "This is an important study by a noted Catholic theologian that focuses on the place of Judaism within a true Christian self-understanding. It is the best comprehensive treatment of the subject available and reveals Dr. Thoma's wide-ranging expertise in all phases of the development of Jewish biblical, talmudic, medieval and modern. He gives special clarity to the question of the Jewish background of the New Testament and offers a helpful and positive approach to the problem of the 'antisemitisms' so frequently cited from the Gospels. The author combines fine theological insight with a rich historical understanding to provide a rare balance which neither overlooks the evils and tensions of Christian-Jewish relations in the past, nor allows misguided judgments to pass by or to misunderstand the good side of the dialogue...."
