EGCG, a major constituent polyphenol in green tea, was found to have a pronounced growth inhibitory effect on cancer cells, but not on normal cells. EGCG significantly increased Bcl-2 protein expression in a dose-dependent manner 24 h post-treatment in cultured keratinocytes.
