What is Time Zones in Finland: EET & EEST about?

Finland observes Eastern European Time (EET) during winter and Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) during summer, with EET being UTC+02:00 and EEST UTC+03:00. The country adopted EET on April 30, 1921, and has implemented daylight saving time since 1981, aligning its time zone with neighboring countries. Proposals to abolish daylight saving time have emerged, with public support for either permanent winter or summer time, but no final decision has been made as of March 2022.
