About this document

Genome Size Evolution in Brassicaceae by salar is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document analyzes genome size evolution in the plant family Brassicaceae. It measured DNA content through flow cytometry and chromosome counts for 34 Brassicaceae species and 10 Arabidopsis thaliana ecotypes. It constructed a phylogenetic tree using ITS sequence data and aligned 23 taxa to analyze genome size changes evolutionarily. It found an 8-fold size variation across species and identified branches representing both increases and decreases in genome size during evolution.
