Sulaiman Nadvi was a Pakistani historian, biographer, and scholar of Islam born in 1884. He co-authored Sirat-un-Nabi, the biography of the Prophet Muhammad, and wrote other works on Islamic history and literature. Nadvi was influential in the development of Islamic education in South Asia and helped establish the Jamia Millia Islamia university. He moved to Pakistan after partition in 1947 and advised the government on Islamic aspects of the constitution before passing away in 1953.
