1) The ancient name of Gazirpara village was Bhupal, which is still listed in some government offices. 2) Hazrat Shajalal came to Sylhet 700 years ago with 360 companions to spread Islam. He sent each of his followers to different places, including Hazrat Sha-Gazi. 3) Hazrat Sha-Gazi came to the village and established his residence on the bank of the Borobhaga River, where he began preaching Islam. The village became known as Gazirpara after his name.
