What is Against the Heart about?
Some Women Find Trouble Wherever They Go. Some Are Lucky Enough To Find A Man Tough Enough To Handle It. When Meriwether Jones takes her four-year-old daughter and runs from trouble in L.A., that trouble follows. By the time Meri reaches rural Spokane, she’s out of gas, out of money, and out of ideas. Ian Brodie has troubles of his own. His father is the shell of the man he once was, lonely, bitter and determined to stay that way--even after Ian, an ex-cop, now the owner of Brodie Security in Seattle, shows up to help him get his farmhouse clean and his life back in order. Hiring Meriwether Jones to help seems the answer to Ian’s prayers. But Meri is keeping a dangerous secret, one that poses a threat to all of them. As Ian delves deeper, the danger increases. But the biggest threat he faces is losing his heart to Meriwether Jones and her sweet little girl.
