## Abstract An exact non‐self‐consistent formula for the direct calculations (i.e. without solving the eigenvalue problem for the Hamiltonian) of the density‐of‐states function for a three‐dimensional disordered system is presented. An interpretation is given and an example of using the formula is discussed.
