This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the association between stress hormones (norepinephrine, epinephrine, and cortisol) and cardiovascular disease risk, analyzing data from 33 studies with 43,641 participants. The findings indicated that higher levels of all stress hormones were significantly linked to increased cardiovascular disease risk, with risk ratios of 1.63 for elevated stress hormones overall, and specific ratios of 1.68 for norepinephrine, 1.58 for epinephrine, and 1.60 for cortisol.
