Electromagnetic Pulse Technology (EMPT) provides non-contact processes for joining, welding, forming and cutting of metals. Non-magnetic metal tubes such as aluminium tubes can be processed, because an eddy current is temporarily induced in the skin of the tubes. EMPT processes can be applied to various alloys with particular success with those with high electric conductivity.
